Finally, a solution for installing Diode Dynamics hitch lights on mid 2000s Toyota 4x4s!  This era of Toyotas all came equipped with a single piece non-replaceable trailer plug that runs back to a pair of larger connectors, this connector setup wasn't compatible with any of Diodes current lighting kits up until now.  This kit adapts Diodes 5th Gen 4Runner C1R hitch light, and requires updating your trailer plug (and potentially its bracket) to a modern USCAR standard version to match the harness output.  With most of these rigs having clapped out old trailer plugs, which are an oddball dealer part, its a benefit to convert to a replaceable standardized trailer plug setup.

Note that this conversion requires converting to USCAR 7 Pin trailer socket, you will not be able to reuse your current trailer plug.  Curt 55415 is the recommended replacement socket.  Your factory trailer plug bracket's holes will likely not line up, but new holes can typically be drilled for those that don't want to purchase our available conversion brackets
